Paul will call a witness whose testimony may derail the entire defense for Jane (Brooke Elliott) and Grayson (Jackson Hurst). What do you all think? Were you upset by the scene in the piano bar? Did you find this week's cases more interesting? Do you think Nikki and Stacey's bakery business is a boring storyline? (I do.) Hit the comments! Previously on Drop Dead Diva: Kim (Kate Levering) pushes for a partnership and her wish is granted when Parker (Josh Stamberg) decides to run off to Chicago to chase down ex-girlfriend Elisa (Brandy Norwood) and their son, who he didn’t know existed until five minutes ago. The kid is seven. I guess Chicago doesn’t have phones or the Internet or proper authorities, and Parker’s strategy is to stalk the young woman and her child until what? He wears her down? Good plan. Stacy (April Bowlby), after treating everyone like crap for weeks, can’t figure out why nobody will come bail her out of jail after she punches her cheating boyfriend/co-star in the face.  Grayson (Jackson Hurst) saves her from doing hard time, and they end up kissing in his office because Grayson thinks Stacy is “so much like Deb.” Jane (Brooke Elliott) sees this and having her best friend make out with the man she was in love with for so long, as Deb and Jane/Deb hybrid, is too much, and she runs off to Italy. Well, why not? Stacy tells Grayson, “I’m not Deb; Jane is,” and three seasons of collective tension explodes across my living room. But wait! Owen (Lex Medlin) joins Jane before the plane takes off and asks if he can join her adventure. Awww, Judge Adorable. He’s so cute. Unbeknownst to them, Grayson is in departures, having tried to board the same flight, but he was just a little too slow. Maybe next season, Grayson. In the following episode, Graham (Raising the Bar, Boston Legal) will appear as Simon Grundy, a lawyer who works with Jane when Deb's mother, Bobbi Dobkins (returning guest star Sharon Lawrence), is sued for a young girl's personal injury in Bobbi's dance studio. Unfortunately, Simon sorely lacks people skills and comes into conflict with Jane on how to handle the case. This episode will also feature Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller.Harrington and Graham join a slew of previously announced guest stars, including Kim Kardashian, Megyn Price, Patty Duke, Emily Rutherford, John Ratzenberger, Faith Prince and Madchen Amick.

It throws that personal element into the mix that raises the stakes. Kim wasn't interested in seeing her father, but the second his ex employer mouthed off to him, she was on the defense and ready to throw down in court. Blood is thicker than water.

Not wanting to bother Parker with her suit, she took the case on and proceeded with business as usual. Parker ended up getting involved for two reasons:

He is still missing Elisa (guest star Brandy Norwood) and their son.
    He does love Kim.

These two are so on and off and things got especially confusing when Parker found out that he had a seven-year-old son with his ex, but something always draws Kim and Parker back together.

With a clever realization about home decor, Kim was able to win her case. Elsewhere, Jane and Grayson were defending a teenage millionaire who wanted to file for emancipation but became part of a missing person case. Jane's case took on a lot of moral and ethical issues. Technically yes, Sam was kidnapped, but was it to save his life? Yes. Jane won her case, but in real life would this hold up?

Meanwhile, Grayson was still going strong in his quest to prove that Jane might be a reincarnated version of Deb. Now he's reading books on the subject, and even trying to provoke certain memories. That scene in the piano bar when Grayson had the song from Ghost playing absolutely broke my heart. Not only because that song is a tearjerker (sorry, Jane, I guess I'm sappy, too) but Jane just looked so completely heartbroken.

Sure, Owen is great, but Jane still has lingering feelings for Grayson. Luke is a much stricter guardian angel than Fred was, and I do miss Fred dearly. Deb may have hit the return button, but why is Jane being punished and not allowed to let Grayson know who she is? That scene was just painful.

For those of you new to the show, a brief run-down: Deb, shallow model, engaged to Grayson, hot lawyer. Died in car accident because she was doing her nails. Moron. Same time, super-serious lawyer, Jane, (same firm as Grayson, natch) gets shot and flat-lines. Deb gets to Heaven, says, “Nuh-uh,” hits Reset. Deb’s soul crashes into Jane’s body. Hi-jinks ensue. Only best friend Stacy and Guardian Angel Fred (Ben Feldman) know what’s what.

It’s honestly better than it sounds.

At its core, DDD is about being comfortable in your own skin and trusting the person you’ve allowed yourself to become. It’s about the inevitability of change and compromise while still staying true to who you want to be, while retaining who you need to be, for yourself and the people you love and trust. And Margaret Cho is in it and she is fabulous.

Season four starts three weeks after Jane and Judge Adorable arrive in Italy. They have a surprise guest when Teri (Margaret Cho) shows up, having been dispatched by Kim to bring Jane back to work. Without Parker and Jane and with Kim in charge, the firm is floundering. Shocking, considering when Kim briefly left the firm and hung out her own shingle, she ended up hosting client meetings in a Starbucks. Whatever could go wrong? Bounced paychecks, that’s what.

Things are predictably tense between Jane and Stacy back home. Last thing Jane knew, Stacy was making out with the love of her and Deb’s lives. That’s a hard thing to reconcile, and a pretty crappy thing to do to your best friend. I don’t buy this whole, “But HE kissed ME,” bullshit. You know when a man is coming in to kiss you, and you can gracefully disengage from the situation, or you can be more inventive (Bite his tongue. Lick his nose. Start calling out random names of dogs.) Either way, there’s an out, and it doesn’t involve breaking your best friend’s heart.

Jane, evidently, is a better person than I am, and she is swayed by Dippy’s tears and some Peanut Butter M&M cookies and a flimsy explanation that Grayson only kissed her because he was missing Deb so much. Way to play to her ego, Stace. Nicely done.

Grayson isn’t quite buying the reason Stacy gives him for blurting out that Jane was, in fact, Deb. She says that Deb used to be her best friend and now Jane is, so that’s all she meant. Tee hee! Dippy. Later on, he does a little sleuthing and discovers that Deb died the same day Jane was shot. Most people would simply think, “Huh. Weird.” And go on with their day, but then we wouldn’t have the miracle that is television, would we?

What the hell is Kim Kardashian doing on my show? Just about ruining it, that’s what. It’s not like they haven’t done stunt casting on DDD before. I was amazed at how much I loved Paula Abdul’s spots. But what fresh hell is this? And oh, God, Stacy just took her phone. It looks like she’ll be back next week.

Ah well, so will I. Fred goes back to Heaven after confessing his identity to Stacy, so there’s a new angel to meet. Kim’s a great lawyer but awful accountant so I want to see how deeply in debt she buries the firm. And Judge Adorable has some serious competition for Jane’s attention. After three seasons of pining for Grayson, I’m interested to see how this plays out.
