Talented Nithya Menon, after her much appreciated performance in Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, doing the female lead in Ustad Hotel.The film also stares Veteran Thilakan , Bhagath Manuel, Lena, Siddique, Mammukkoya, Kunjan and Aryan Menon.
The story and the screenplay by Anjali Menon, who is known for her critically acclaimed Manjadikuru “The Lucky Red Seed” staring Prithviraj in the lead, and went on to get the FIPRESCI award for the Best Malayalam film at 2008 International Film Festival of Kerala(IFFK). In 2009, the film swept the awards at South Asian International Film Festival at New York, winning five Grand Jury Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer & Best Emerging Talent.
She has also directed a short film, “Happy Journey“, for the Malayalam anthology film, Kerala Cafe (10 Short films) staring Nithya Menon in the lead. According to her she had a Biriyani from the same Usthad hotel during the discussion of the Kerala Cafe. After years she is making a film based on the same tasty hotel.Ustad Hotel is a new upcoming Malayalam Movie, written by Anjali Menon and directed by Anwar Rasheed.Lead roles are played by Dulguer Salman and Nithya Menon. The release of Prithviraj’s new movie titled “Hero” will coincide with Dulqar Salman’s next film “Usthad Hotel”. Both the movies are poised to reach the theatres on the second week of May, which is going to be an interesting contest between the young stars of Mollywood at the Box Office. Mean while “Hero” will have a thread with cinema as its backdrop “Usthad Hotel” is a simple story written by Anjali Menon about an old hotel located at Calicut.
Prithviraj appears as a stunt dupe Tarzan in “Hero” who at a point of time is invited to become the real hero of the movie in which he is working. The Heroine character of the film is played by Yami Gowtham. Deephan is the director of this film and the scriptted by Vinod Guruvayoor.
